From Summer Blockbusters to Vineyard Vows: A Season of Storytelling and Style with Kadeema Rentals

August has arrived, bringing with it a moment to reflect on a season filled with nostalgia, vibrant experiences, and meaningful milestones. For Kadeema Rentals, this summer was about more than just hosting beautiful events. It marked a season of personal growth, creative partnerships, and setting the tone for an inspiring fall on Martha’s Vineyard.
Jaws, Joy, and a Creative Return to the Vineyard
This summer marked the 50th anniversary of Jaws—the iconic film that made Martha’s Vineyard a cinematic landmark. However, for our founder Kristen Bender Daaboul, it was more than just a pop culture moment. It was deeply personal. We’re incredibly grateful to KG Events & Design for including us in such a memorable celebration and trusting us with the specialty rentals for this iconic Vineyard moment.
Kristen’s design journey began on the island. This year, she returned with her creative team, VIP tickets in hand, and a full-circle sense of pride. The anniversary screening featured orchestral accompaniment and a surprise appearance by Richard Dryfuss. As a result, the night became a creative homecoming—one that brought her journey full circle.
“Working with the KG Events team—Kristen, Meghan, Kim, and now the incredible new members they’ve brought on—has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. Their vision, grace under pressure, and genuine kindness make every collaboration seamless and inspiring. I’m always excited to see how their team continues to grow and evolve while still maintaining the heart and excellence that make them so special.”

Being part of such a memorable occasion reconnected Kadeema Rentals to the spirit of the Vineyard. It’s no surprise that Kristen has long dreamed of opening a Kadeema showroom or warehouse on the island. While ferry logistics pose a challenge, the vision of serving planners and clients locally is still alive—and well within reach. After all, Kristen’s always believed in bold dreams and meaningful execution.
Planned by the expert team at KG Events & Design, this wedding captured what we love most about island celebrations: thoughtful design, seamless execution, and emotional storytelling.
The event featured everything from cocktail tables and bar installations to ceremony seating and custom dessert stations. Each element was chosen with intention. In fact, the event is a showcase of how Kadeema Rentals blends aesthetic design and functional flow.

Photographer Gayle Brookerbrought a timeless lens to the celebration. A graduate of RISD with an MFA, Gayle has a background in classical composition. She once led the Photography Department at the College of Charleston and has contributed to Martha Stewart, Real Simple, Brides, and more.
Gayle shared: “When I stepped into the tent, I was instantly captivated by the chic and elegant furniture that adorned the space. Each piece felt intentional—perfect for an interior designer bride!”
Looking ahead, she added:
“I love the trend of living-room style lounge spaces near the dance floor. Guests naturally gravitate toward them. And they create such warm, candid moments in photos.”

Fall on the Horizon: What’s Next on Martha’s Vineyard
With early fall weddings like September 7th Martha’s Vineyard celebration leading the way, the end of 2024 promises to be both dynamic and full of heart. The island’s natural beauty, paired with KG’s planning expertise and Kadeema’s layered rentals, creates events rich in style and emotion.
Looking to the future, Kristen continues to envision a Kadeema outpost on the island. The dream is to eliminate the ferry logistics and serve clients with ease. It may take time, but with Kristen’s track record of bold execution, it’s entirely possible. We’d love to see our Selene Collection—with its bold black framing and natural textures—featured in future island celebrations. It’s modern magic, and perfectly suited for the crisp sophistication of fall and winter events on Martha’s Vineyard.
